Somers House is our brand new nursery in Reigate which opened in March 2020.

The nursery offers exceptional all year childcare for babies from 6 months, toddlers and pre-schoolers up to 5 years.

Somers House is open five days a week from 7.30 am - 6.30 pm.

Somers House is registered with Ofsted, Reigate and Banstead Council and is a member of the National Day Nurseries Association.

our rooms

At Somers House our rooms are divided for our babies, toddlers and preschoolers.

'Bunnies' is where our babies from 6 months to 2 years are looked after with lots of love and care. Before they start they get to enjoy three taster sessions to help them get used to new surroundings. With a staff ratio of 1: 3, there are always lots of people on hand to play, help, or give a cuddle.

Fox Cubs is for toddlers two to two years and eight months. It is where you find our independent little ones where they are given more choice in their days, though still within a carefully planned framework. There's a staff ratio of 1:4 to provide lots of guidance and helping hands.

Badgers is for preschoolers between two years and eight months and rising 5's. The children now are usually confident and skillful little learners, busy with creative and investigative activities, often with close friends and clear preferences. It's much more like being in a school reception class. The staffing ratio is 1: 8.

Amelia

Nursery Manager

Amelia our Somers House Nursery Manager, has worked for Cavendish Lodge for over 12 years and is level 6 qualified, with Early Years Professional Status. Amelia started with us as a preschool room leader in the Streatham nurseries and progressed into a Curriculum Manager role leading the curriculum and staff training in the Streatham nurseries for 8 years. Amelia then transferred to the Reigate nursery after returning from maternity leave. Amelia oversees all the staff in the nursery as well as supporting and guiding the preschool in the best practise to support the children in developing the skills they need for starting school.

Alice

Deputy Manager

Alice started with us as the baby room leader and is level 3 qualified. Alice has progressed on to an admin based role, supporting the organisation of the nursery and recruitment as well as leading on all our extracurricular activities. Alice has stepped up as 3rd in charge of the nursery, deputising in the absence of the managers and also plays an important role in the our nursery as SENCO, monitoring any development concerns and supporting the teams in ensuring the children are making progress in an inclusive learning environment.

Becca

Joint Baby Room Leader

Becca is very experienced level 3 qualified Room Leader who with Ruby leads our busy baby room. Becca has an abundance of experience with the younger babies.

Cheila

Toddler Room Leader

Toddler Room Leader. Cheila is level 3 qualified and is an experienced toddler room leader. Cheila previously worked in our baby room and uses this knowledge of the younger age group in supporting the children to settle into the room and grow in their independence skills during their time in the toddlers.

Billie

Pre-school Room Leader

Billie is level 6 qualified and is an experienced room leader working with toddlers and pre-schoolers. Billie has worked within all of the age groups at Cavendish Lodge giving her a brilliant understanding of how children develop in the early years. As preschool room leader Billie now focuses on preparing the children for school in all aspects of their development.
